Mechanical Engineering — ABM

Accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s Curriculum for Mechanical Engineering 

The following are the steps for a Mechanical Engineering undergraduate student following the current model curriculum to enter and complete the proposed ABM program: 

  • Seek admission (Deadline for application is March 1) to ABM Program in Spring semester of Junior year; minimum 3.4 GPA
  • Start ABM Program in Fall semester of undergraduate Senior year
  • Graduate with BME degree in Spring of undergraduate Senior year and gain 9 credits of MECH 6xxx credits towards ABM program during Senior year
  • Complete 3 hours of 6000 or 7000 level Science/Engineering course during first Summer of MS program
  • Complete 3 hours of 6000 or 7000 level Science/Engineering course + 6 hours of MECH 6xxx or MECH 7xxx in first Fall semester of MS (OR, 9 hours of MECH 6xxx or MECH 7xxx in first Fall semester of MS)
  • Complete 3 hours of 6000 or 7000 level Science/Engineering course + 6 hours of MECH 6xxx or MECH 7xxx in first Spring semester of MS (OR, 9 hours of MECH 6xxx or MECH 7xxx in first Spring semester of MS)
  • Complete degree in Spring semester of MS
