Certificate in Workplace Intercultural Competence
The Certificate in Workplace Intercultural Competence will give students an opportunity to develop and demonstrate the skills required to work in a diverse setting and engage in intercultural communication.

Students who are unable to participate in an abroad or internship experience can petition the program director to have this requirement fulfilled by an additional approved upper-level course in the field.

FLGC 3150 will act as a capstone for the certificate.

Students should meet with the program director to choose an appropriate course. The purpose of this course is to tie the topics of the workplace intercultural competence certificate into learning in the student's major field. These course hours can count in both the certificate and the major/minor program.
Students will be able to choose from a wide range of possibilities. As just some examples: BUSI 3250 (International Business), CTCT 3000 (Leadership Skills for Personal and Organizational Development), FINC 3100 (Fundamentals of Global Trade), HOSP 4500 (Strategic Hospitality Management), MKTG 4400 (International Marketing), POLI 3100 (Introduction to World Affairs). Other upper-level courses with an international and professional focus can also be approved by the director. Students are responsible for satisfying the pre-requisites for any course included in the certificate.
