Beverage Management Minor
The Beverage Management Minor offers students a unique opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and expertise in the beverage industry. This minor equips students with a comprehensive understanding of key elements, including the materials, agricultural practices, production methods, distribution channels, sensory evaluation, and service techniques involved in the beverage sector. Additionally, it addresses important legal and regulatory considerations related to beverage production and consumption. From farm to glass, students will explore the entire supply chain, acquiring the scientific, theoretical, and practical skills necessary for success in various beverage-related careers.
The minor consists of 15 credit hours across five courses (three credit hours each), two of which are chosen from a list of elective courses. Two of the required courses, HOSP 2010 Science of Beverages and HOSP 2020 Beverage Industry Operations, are prerequisites for all the other courses. Additionally, students must be 21 to enroll in any of the four elective classes.
