BA Chemistry — Pre-Med (MCHA), Pre-Den (DCHA), Pre-Opt (OCHA)
The BA Chemistry (CHMA) curriculum provides a strong background in chemistry while allowing students to specialize in areas of interest. For the Pre-Medicine (MCHA), Pre-Dentistry (DCHA), and Pre-Optometry (OCHA) options, a robust curriculum in general, organic, analytical, and biochemistry is complemented with courses in microbiology, genetics, and the flexibility to choose from a wide array of electives that prepare students for entrance into health professional schools.

Options for courses labeled CORE are in the Auburn University Bulletin (www.auburn.edu/bulletin) under Core Curriculum.
- 1
CHEM 1030/1031 and 1040/1041 sequence can substitute for CHEM 1110/1111 and 1120/1121. See advisor for details.
- 2
CHEM Electives are defined as any CHEM course 3000-level and above. A maximum of 3 hours of CHEM 4980 may be counted as a CHEM elective. Additional hours may be used as general elective.
- 3
Students must complete a sequence of EITHER History or Literature to graduate. Please select the second half of EITHER the History or Literature sequence that you began.
- 4
If a second LITERATURE sequence is chosen, this course must be a CORE SOCIAL SCIENCE. If a second HISTORY sequence is chosen, this course must be a CORE HUMANITIES.
- 5
This course must be taken the semester of graduation.
