Students concentrating in U.S. history are required to take all three seminars. Students concentrating on European history should take HIST 7480 two times and either HIST 7240 or HIST 7250.

2

Students will complete up to 9 hours of graduate readings courses (e.g., HIST 8000, HIST 8010, etc.) in preparation for preliminary examinations. If a student uses less than 9 hours, the remaining hours shift to other graduate history electives.

3

Of these history graduate elective hours, at least 2 courses must be outside of the student's exam fields. Up to 2 courses may be non-HIST graduate courses.
