Advanced Manufacturing Minor
Alabama Industry, the Department of Commerce and the Department of Defense have identified a lack of manufacturing process knowledge as a critical element in the development of the next generation of manufacturing engineers and workers.
This minor, like manufacturing in general, is open to all majors within the College of Engineering and the Auburn University community.
Students will take the following five required courses (16 hours).
| Code | Title | Hours |
|---|---|---|
| INSY 6700 | GD&T, Drawings and Measurement | 3 |
| INSY 6710 | 21st Century Manu Processes 1 | 3 |
| INSY 6720 | 21st Century Manu Processes 2 | 3 |
| INSY 6730 | Concepts of Computer Numerical | 4 |
| INSY 6740 | Concepts of Industry 4.0 | 3 |
| Total Hours | 16 | |
Three of the five classes include engineering laboratories using the new equipment within the Interdisciplinary Center for Advanced Manufacturing Systems (ICAMS). ICAMS is largely funded by the Department of Defense as part of their workforce development program
